An Entrepreneurial Couple’s Relaxing Beach Getaway

The holiday house of Shirin Pulitano (founder of events design & production agency Dot Dot Dash) , and her husband Daniel (a builder and general manager at Pulitano Commercial Constructions) is every Victorian’s dream.

Located near the back beaches of Sorrento on the Mornington Peninsula, the couple and their children spend weekends around their gorgeous pool, garden, and breezy living spaces renovated by Daniel, with interior design by Shirin, and building design by David Dubois of Dubois.

Starting with a neutral palette of white and light timbers, the addition of black terrazzo accents, calming blue hues, and buttery lemon yellow bed linen by Sheridan creates a playful, uplighting space reflective of long summer days.

A Refined Reworking Of A Renovated Arts And Crafts Home

Houses from the Arts and Crafts movement encouraged an informal lifestyle featuring an open floor plan and natural, handcrafted materials.   This intent was diminished in a previous 1980s renovation of this Caulfield North house, which introduced some overwhelming bulky features...

Inside Creative + Interior Designer Sibella Court’s Eclectic Family Pad

Interior designer, author and historian, Sibella Court is the brains behind design studio and retail store, The Society inc. She’s renowned for her signature bohemian style, and knack for sourcing vintage homewares and hardware imbued with history. So it’s no surprise her home embodies the same eclectic vibe!

The multi-dimensional creative and her family moved into the property on the coastal outskirts of southern Sydney about four years ago. It was all white when they purchased it, but since then, Sibella has renovated and re-styled ‘every surface of the house’ with the help of her husband Ben Harper. And they’ve truly made the home their own – inside and out.

    A Former Basement Transformed Into A Light-Filled One-Bedroom Suite

Welcome Back Functional Simplicity + Primary Hues With Bauhaus Revival

‘Timeless style’ is something we all strive to achieve in our homes, yet it’s still all too common to see fleeting trends come and go. One enduring style, or rather institution, is Bauhaus design. The 100-year-old movement remains fresh and relevant in architecture and interiors today, and right now it’s enjoying a revival.

Simple colour schemes (let’s talk about red!), pared-back ornamentation, chrome, glass and clean lines are all part of the Bauhaus Revival look – here’s how to nail this style at home!

A Fifth Generation Farmer’s Homestead Turned Boutique Accommodation

Woolbrook Homestead is a heritage-listed 1856 property that’s been in farmer Lachie Morrison’s family for five generations.

When his father sold the farm in 2019, Lachie and his partner Anise Boulot decided to lease the homestead back from the new owner on a long-term basis. The couple spent two years renovating the property to its full potential, which they now operate as an accommodation and events venue.

Take a closer look at the renovated homestead, located in Victoria’s Golden Plains Shire.

A Serene Cape Schanck Beach House Designed To Showcase Its Spectacular Views

This sleek, contemporary beach house in Cape Schanck on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula was designed last year as a family retreat for a couple and their adult children.

A renovation of an existing two-level home, the project is an exercise in restraint, with carefully considered interiors by Cantilever Interiors. The result is a supremely refined, functional family home that gently layers muted tones and natural textures, allowing the spectacular surrounding landscape to take centre stage.

This Pastel Kitchen Will Change Your Mind About Laminate

With a young child and another on the way, home owners Anne and Mark approached SpaceCraft Joinery to design a more functional kitchen in their Torrensville, South Australia bungalow.  SpaceCraft firstly identified the opportunity to move the family’s kitchen for...
