A Peachy, Beachy Apartment Inside And Out!

An Australian summer palette is equal parts relaxed and vibrant – exactly what this apartment in the Sunshine Coast looks like after receiving the CG Design Studio treatment earlier this year.

What began as a beachfront apartment with a late 80s timestamp and Mediterranean influences is now a warm coastal pad devoid of typical beach house tones. Peach perfect!

An Inspiring Renovation Of A Post-War Melbourne Home

Interior Designer Mairead Murphy is passionate about saving Melbourne’s post-war weatherboard homes, recognising them as an important part of the city’s historic fabric.

The director of Maike Design first bought one of these houses in Brunswick East in 2014, going on to complete a self-designed full renovation, within the original footprint.

When a similar house came up for sale next door, Mairead and her partner embarked on another renovation – only this time it wasn’t so easy! Despite several unforeseen issues, the designer successfully reworked this second home quickly and efficiently. It’s now a clever, compact home for her family of four, with some lovely new neighbours next door!

A Secluded Alpine A-Frame In Kangaroo Valley

Sophie Lord and her partner (architect Ben Gray) bought this 16-acre plot of land in the middle of the Kangaroo Valley on a drizzly Monday morning three years ago completely on a whim. It had been on the market for two years and was overgrown with tall weeds, tumbledown sheds, rusty tractor parts and wild bamboo. There was no septic tank, power or water, but it was perfect.

In the years since purchasing the plot of land, they’ve crafted a beautiful piece of accommodation. The A-frame is made from recycled, natural or sustainably sourced materials – creating a sheltered, secluded nook in the middle of regional New South Wales that’s finally ready for visitors. Slice of heaven right there!

Nestled between the Southern Highlands and the New South Wales South Coast is Kangaroo Valley, a two hour drive from Sydney. In this lush idyllic location surrounded by rainforest and waterfalls is The Casa, an accommodation offering from Suzy and Nick O’Rourke, the couple behind The Shed in Gerroa (see our feature on that spot here!).

With interiors transformed by Suzy herself, this Mediterranean-style farmhouse is one dream holiday spot!

A Transportable, Off-Grid Tiny Home Made From Shipping Containers

Perched on the top of a rocky hill, overlooking the undulating mountains around Mansfield, two 14 square metre shipping containers are not exactly as they seem.

While from the outside this pair look almost identical to others in the area, inside they have been completely transformed into a pair of tiny homes by designer and builder Robbie Walker.

Capturing incredible views towards Mount Buller, Victoria, life in this pair of tiny homes is about as close to nature as it gets!
